ITCC–FII Conference in Bangkok on India–Thailand Economic Cooperation
As part of the India–Thailand delegation engagements, our Managing Partner, Mr. Hitender Mehta, participated in the ITCC–FII International Conference on the theme “Beyond Borders, Gateway to Growth,” held on 19 January 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand. The conference was organized by the India Thai Chamber of Commerce (ITCC) and focused on advancing India–Thailand economic cooperation, including discussions around a potential Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
A key highlight of the conference was a Fireside Chat on the “Future of India–Thailand Collaboration,” featuring a distinguished panel comprising Kiat Sittheeamorn, former Deputy Prime Minister (Rank), Thailand; Dr. Deepak Jain; and Mr. Hitender Mehta, in his capacity as Chairman, International Affairs Committee, Federation of Indian Industry (FII).
During the discussion, the panel emphasized the importance of both governments taking proactive steps towards negotiating a comprehensive Free Trade Agreement between India and Thailand, while safeguarding sensitive sectors of national interest. The dialogue highlighted the potential to deepen economic integration, enhance bilateral trade and investment flows, and unlock new avenues of cooperation between the two countries.
Mr. Hitender Mehta contributed to the discussion by advocating for strengthened institutional and policy frameworks to facilitate cross-border trade and investment, reinforcing the strategic importance of India–Thailand economic relations.
This engagement further underscores the growing momentum towards strengthening bilateral partnerships and advancing regional economic collaboration.
