NITI Aayog Consultation on Compliance Bottlenecks in Heavy Industries
On 1 April 2026, our Managing Partner, Mr. Hitender Mehta, represented ASSOCHAM at a Stakeholder Consultation Meeting on the theme “Compliance Bottlenecks – Heavy Industries Sector (Manufacturing & Industry)” at NITI Aayog, New Delhi. The meeting was convened at the behest of the High-Level Committee (HLC) on Non-Financial Regulatory Reforms (NFRR), which is tasked with reviewing non-financial sector regulations administered by the Central Government and developing a modern, flexible, and trust-based regulatory framework.
The session was chaired by Rajeev Singh Thakur, Adviser, NITI Aayog, and witnessed participation from senior officials, industry associations, and chambers of commerce. The discussion focused on deregulation, with a specific emphasis on reducing compliance burdens across various laws, distinct from penal provisions.
The ASSOCHAM delegation shared practical, on-ground challenges, highlighted key issues, and offered actionable recommendations to streamline the regulatory ecosystem, aligned with the broader objective of enhancing ease of doing business in India.
