NITI Aayog Roundtable Discussion on Labour Law Reforms
On 24 March 2026, our Managing Partner, Mr. Hitender Mehta, represented ASSOCHAM in a Roundtable Discussion organized by the Skill Development and Employment (SDE) Division at NITI Aayog. The session was chaired by Dr. Sonia Pant, Program Director & Adviser (Skill Development, Labour & Employment), and focused on key implementation challenges relating to new labour legislations and frameworks governing employment and social security in India.
The discussion witnessed a diverse group of stakeholders, including representatives from central ministries, state governments, academia, industry bodies, chambers of commerce, and sector experts. Participants shared practical insights, identified implementation challenges, and proposed recommendations to strengthen India’s employment and social security ecosystem. Key areas of discussion included system design, compliance, service delivery, operational efficiency, financial sustainability, and governance.
Our Managing Partner, Mr. Hitender Mehta, contributed to the dialogue, underscoring the importance of developing inclusive and responsive implementation of the Labour Codes. The roundtable highlighted the value of collaborative engagement in addressing evolving challenges and enhancing the effectiveness of employment and social security systems for all stakeholders.
